Basketball Strength and Fitness Training in Reading, West Berkshire, and Beyond

Great basketball players work on their body as much as their game. I’m here to help you raise your game through sports specific strength and fitness training for basketball.

As well as being a Level 4 Advanced Personal Trainer, I’m qualified in Sports Specific Training. I’ve played the game myself at a high level having been a UK top 50 player at age 18 and playing national league level as both a junior and senior player. I’m also a level 2 Basketball Coach with 25 years of basketball coaching experience working with a diverse range of players at all levels and abilities.

Whether you’re a male or female basketball player looking to enhance your sport specific fitness, I’m ideally qualified and experienced to help you and can’t wait to work with you!

How Strength & Fitness Training Will Help You On The Basketball Court:

-Improved strength for absorbing contact, setting screens, boxing out, and holding off your defender in the post.

-Strong and balanced legs for running, jumping, maintaining your defensive stance, and the energy to play hard for the whole game.

-Enhanced core stability so you can stay on balance when you take contact while driving to the hoop, and effectively transfer power from the lower body to the upper body in long range shooting.

-Reduce injury risk by enhancing joint stability, muscle balance, and strength of muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones.

-Enhance your stamina and energy systems so that you have the energy to keep performing your skills consistently throughout the game.

-Improve your freedom of movement and enhance circulation for recovery.

What’s Different About My Approach?

-My whole approach to all aspects of fitness training is heavily research based.

-My philosophy around training is to make everything as time efficient as possible-enabling you to achieve as much as possible with the minimum time commitment, so you can balance your training with your other obligations.

-I won’t recommend high impact training techniques that will be stressful on your body when we can achieve the same result through lower impact activities.

-You’ll be treated as an individual and involved in the decision making process.

Other Useful Stuff To Know:

-My training is delivered through my Virtual Fitness Coaching Service, which allows me to provide higher levels of service, coaching and support for my clients, and to plan, and review their whole training plan for each week as well as providing additional support in between the workouts themselves.

-I have multiple internationally recognised certifications in delivering fitness online and virtually, including being a certified Virtual Coaching Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

-Although I’m based in Reading, West Berkshire, in England, location is not a barrier to access my coaching services.
